WEEK 1

Welcome to WEEK 1 of another exciting year of the PICKS LEAGUE. This is the 27th or 28th season (I can’t remember which). In any case, we’ve been doing this a while!

Last year, we had our first back-to-back-to-back champion. Who will win this year?

If you’ve played in the past, you’re welcome to play again this year! Good luck to everyone. Let’s do this!

RULES/PICKING PROCEDURE

1) Pick 13 Games
2) SKIP 3
3) Place an asterisk next to your “Lock of the week” (1-game bonus if your pick covers the spread)
4) Capitalize your TRIFECTA picks (one-game bonus if all three teams cover)

5) Type SKIP next to your skips (don’t delete them)

• Keep the games in order (use copy and paste)
• Pay your $80 dues via paypal to rlaw22(AT)comcast.net – replace (AT) with @
• Contact me with questions.

Deadline – Must make picks before kickoff of each game. Copy down my email in case the site goes down; you can email me your picks in case of an emergency. Failure to post your picks results in losses even if the site goes down. Copy down my email just in case.

NEW RULES!

This season, you will have one win subtracted from your weekly total as a penalty if ALL THREE of your trifecta picks lose. This will be known as the “Cry-fecta” (naming credit: Matt)

(so if you win 9 games but go 0-3 in your trifecta, you will only get 8 wins for the week.) if you win at least one, you get no penalty. If you win all three, you get a one-game bonus – so choose your trifectas wisely!

— And don’t forget about the lone wolf! If you’re the only one to pick a winner, you get a bonus win! (You successfully pick a team to cover, but no one else does)

NOTE: Starting at the mid-way point of the season, we will likely be adding a weekly prize to keep things interesting. It won’t be until mid-season, but stay tuned!
